Create a QR code for the content you need
Choose Website URL, Plain text, Wi-Fi, or WhatsApp link, then fill in the fields shown. The preview updates as you type. A website URL must start with http:// or https://; for example, https://example.com/page encodes that exact URL. Plain text keeps its spaces and line breaks, so a short note such as “Room 204” remains text rather than becoming a link.
For Wi-Fi, enter the network name, choose WPA/WPA2, WEP, or Open network, and supply a password when required. The tool creates standard WIFI: QR text and escapes special characters in the network name and password. For example, an open network named Guest encodes as WIFI:T:nopass;S:Guest;;. The hidden-network option adds H:true. A device still needs compatible Wi-Fi settings and correct credentials to connect.
For WhatsApp, enter an international number including its country code. For example, +92 300 1234567 becomes https://wa.me/923001234567. An optional message is URL encoded into a text query. The QR code opens a link; it does not send a message automatically or verify that the number has a WhatsApp account.
Choose colors, correction, and a download format
Choose dark foreground modules and a light background. The tool requires at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio and prevents inverted colors because low contrast or reversed colors are harder for many scanners. Leave the four-module margin intact. Medium error correction is the default; Low, Quartile, and High are also available. Higher correction can withstand more damage but reduces how much content fits.
Download a 1024-pixel PNG for a raster image or SVG for a scalable vector image. Both downloads use the current preview settings. Test the downloaded QR code with a phone before printing or distributing it, especially after changing colors, reducing print size, or encoding long text. A QR code can expose its full encoded content to anyone who scans or decodes it; treat Wi-Fi credentials and private text accordingly.
Generation happens in your browser without a QR service or application upload. The page limits encoded content to 2,000 UTF-8 bytes; the QR format may reach capacity earlier at a high correction level, in which case shorten the content or choose a lower level. Very dense codes are difficult to scan even when they fit. The preview and download URLs are released when inputs change or the page closes.
QR Code Generator FAQs
Can I create both PNG and SVG QR codes?
Yes. Once the preview is ready, use Download PNG for a 1024-pixel raster image or Download SVG for a scalable vector image. Both contain the same encoded content and color settings.
How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code for an open or hidden network?
Select Wi-Fi, enter the SSID, and choose Open network to omit a password. Check Hidden network when appropriate; this adds H:true to the Wi-Fi QR payload. A scanner must support the Wi-Fi QR convention, and the network details must be correct.
Will the WhatsApp code send my message automatically?
No. It opens a wa.me link for the number with an optional prefilled message. The person scanning it decides whether to open the link and send the message.
Why does longer content fail at High error correction?
Higher error correction reserves more QR capacity for recovery. If the content does not fit, shorten it or select a lower level. The 2,000-byte page limit also applies before encoding.
Are Wi-Fi passwords or plain text private inside the QR image?
No. Anyone who can access and decode the QR image can read its payload. Generate and share codes containing credentials or sensitive text only when that exposure is acceptable.
